Katy Kids Club
The Katy Kids Club is currently in its planning phase, but will eventually be a series of model train play dates for kids to be held in the historic Railway Express Agency Building.
Robert W.S. Stevens Toy and Model Train Exhibit
The Robert W. S. Stevens Toy and Model Train Exhibit will be located in the original Railway Express Agency building adjacent to the Sedalia Katy Depot. The exhibit is named in honor of the man who supervised construction of the MKT Railroad across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, and later served as the railroad’s general manager.
The exhibit will serve as the center of a seasonal youth-based, railroad themed education and activity schedule. It will interpret the history of the Railway Express Agency; feature various operating and static train layouts; display railroad maps, photographs and artifacts; and include a railroad themed reference library.
This project is initiated by the Sedalia Heritage Foundation Friends in partnership with the Division of State Parks, Union Pacific Railroad Foundation, and the Sedalia Area Tourism Commission.
