Friends of the Katy Depot

Friends sponsor special events, heritage exhibits, and educational programming.

Since the rededication of this historic site in 2001, nearly 250,000 people have visited the Sedalia Katy Depot to enjoy guided and self-guided tours, national art shows, local art exhibits, guest presentations, character reenactors, traveling and temporary exhibits, bike shows, trail rides, special occasions, concerts, car shows and much more. Through their continued support we look forward to future programming.

Over $750,000 was raised locally to partner in the restoration of the Katy Depot and to install the Railroad Heritage Exhibits. Since the completion of that phase, Friends continue to generously donated funds as well as countless man-hours to support events and special projects.
 Over 150 individuals have contributed hundreds of railroad-related artifacts—a collection that now includes an extensive assortment of railway apprenticeship booklets, photos, time tables, tools and dining car china, just to name a few of the artifacts.

Volunteering is a great way to experience the fun of the Depot while helping us provide the best experience possible for our visitors. Please consider donating your time in one of the following ways.
