Katy Trail Facts & Help
Longest Rails To Trails
At 237.7 miles, Missouri’s Katy Trail is the United States’ longest “rails-to trails” project to date. The former MKT rail line is flat and scenic making it ideal for hiking, running, or cycling on just about any kind of bike. Horse-back riding is allowed on two segments of the trail as well: Sedalia to Clinton and Tebbets to Portland.
Many cross-county cyclists include the Katy Trail in their tours. It is part of the famous Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail as well as a part of the American Discovery Trail reaching from coast to coast.
